Zenome: A Directory of Communities
Zenome is a self-organizing directory where you can visit an existing community of interest,
or create a new one.
Zenome is a space where like-minded people can participate in communities of shared interest.

Overview

Zenome first approached us to update their website to the new web standards and this discussion lead to how can we increase traffic and conversions rates on the website and make a little money along the way. Up to this point zenome was a self-sustaining website that has now grown into a authority in areas of Business Communication, Education, Communities + Culture and so on...

Challenges

Because the content being posted and uploaded to Zenome required strong back-end programming certain components of the client side of the site where overlooked to achieve the functionality of the site.
We had to first breakdown all the coding of the site and build it back-up using XHTML, CSS 2.1, Javascript and PHP without affecting the network of links they had build up over the years and then find a way to drive more traffic to the site and start to monetize the site without offending current members and visitors.

Solution

After careful planning we were able to convert all the existing code to W3C standards. Our programming team then moved to the second phase of the on-page optimization of the site using thematic siloing techniques and seo copywriting to have visitors landing on there relevant search keyword term rather than the home page and then have to dig through all the categories to find their relevant topic.
We then moved on to promoting the site by creating a search engine vehicle using various blogs, hub pages, news releases, outposts and pingbacks to drive traffic to the zenome site.
We increased traffic to the site by 500 unique visitors a day in the first month of the recoding and installing search marketing tactics.

Outcome

Zenome is now benefiting from renewed optimism in how the site membership base is increasing and how google is considering Zenome as a true authority with strong content that is relevant and specific to the needs of their member base and people who just come to visit. www.zenome.com
